Here we go again....

Before Bill and I got married he use to tell me that it seemed like something major would happen in his life about every six months. Wheter it would be a job,a move, school, or something with family. As we started dating I realized how quickly major events could happen. We started dating and than 6 months later we were married. Than about 6 months after that we moved to a new home, then about 6 months after that we had our first child... and it has not really seemed to stop. Maybe everything was not every 6 months apart but with 3 Children and one on the way, and 6 moves in 3 different States all in the 6 1/2 years that we have been married, lets just say major events seem to happen allot.

I am thankful for every "major event" that has happened and can't wait to meet our newest son in just over 3 months!!! However, we may or may not have another major event before that one. Bill has been laid-off since June. Since he is a land surveyor it is almost impossible to find a job in that field. I say almost because I know when God wants him to find one, there will be one for him. The same week he got laid-off a survey company in NC that Bill has talked to in the past just happened to call him to see what he was up to. We were excited and thought for sure God was providing a job because Bill never told this man that he just got laid-off before that.

Well, we waited, and waited, and waited and didn't hear back from him... so we thought we were wrong about that being Gods will for us. Than about a month later the man calls back again! He wanted to know if Bill was still looking for work. We got all excited again and thought we would be going to NC for an interview. Well the man said he would call back in a few days, but we never heard from him.

So by this point we were just trying to figure out what God wanted us to do. Bill called surveying companies in just about evey state and there is no one hiring and there are many laying off also. The Job in NC seemed like the only possibility. So Bill called the man to see how things were going and told him that we would be visiting friends and family in NC in a few weeks. The man scheduled an interview with Bill since we are going to be close by.

This Friday were taking off to NC. Bill has the interview on Monday. Please join us in prayer as we pray for Gods will in this matter. We're not sure if this is a vacation... or the planning of our next "major event", a moving planning trip.

First Day of Kindergarten!

We started the first day of Kindergarten today with Bill and Josiah. They have been excited about school starting for a while. I love their enthusiasm to learn. We did Bible, Phonics, Music, Skills, Numbers, and Reading. In a few days we will add Writing and than next week we will add Social Studies or Science. I'm looking forward to watching the young minds learn. I remember the first time I had "school" with them and just how much of a challenge it was to teach them their colors. It hard to believe by the end of this school year that they will be reading!

Hopefully Titus will start learning something this year also. I plan on reading to him and working on his speech to start with. I'm hoping to get to colors, shapes, letters, and numbers with him by the end of this school year. Titus was not the most helpful "kindergartner" today. He was climbing on the desk, eating crayons, making high pitch noises, and watching the music DVD with his head right in front of the TV. Oh yea, did I mention flipping over the rocking chair because he was rocking to hard! What a silly boy!

Even though things can get very challenging, I enjoy all of my boys and it is so rewarding to be their "teacher". I believe God commands parents to teach their children and I would not change a thing! I am not very smart, nor have a college degree, but God has blessed me and my husband with these boys to train, teach, disciple, discipline, and what ever else they need. I'm looking forward to the rest of this school year and all the challenges and blessings that it holds!

How to tell if your a motorcycle man...

We were at DQ yesterday and Little Bill said, "Mommy... I think that man over there is a motorcycle man". Without being able to see the man from where I was sitting I wondered what made my 5 year old think of this. So I asked him, "Why do you think he is a motorcycle man?." He responded quickly and said, "Because he colors on himself." Bill and I were laughing so hard! Its so funny how observant little kids can be.

My Birthday Surprise!!!

My husband wanted to surprise me this year on my Birthday, because he knows I love surprises. The only problem it that him and I are both horrible at keeping surprises a secret. We get to excited about them and tell each other and than just look forward to the event. Well this year, I completely surprised him with motocross tickets for the day of his birthday. He loved and and so did the boys! About 2 weeks ago Bill said I know what I am going to get you for your birthday. So I tried and tried to get it out of him. The suspense was killing me. He knew I already wanted to go get my hair done with my sister so he told me to do that and to buy a nice outfit. My mind was boggled. I had no clue where we were going to go. I did have a guess... but I thought, no way... he would hate that. Well my guess ended up being right but did not work out according to plan.

I was suppose to go shopping and then to my hair appointment at 12:30. Then I was suppose to meet Bill at the mall around 2:00. I figured 1 1/2 hours was more than enough time to just get my hair trimmed and some makeup on. However the hair place took a lot longer. We did not get back to the mall till 4. I was so disappointed because we were not able to get our family picture. Bill had taken the boys shopping and bought them all new adorable dress clothes. Shirts, ties, vest, pants, and dress shoes. He is such a great dad and husband. He even scheduled a picture appointment for family pictures. At first I was really upset because I missed it. When I got to the mall and saw all 4 of my men dressed up walking down the ile, I was almost in tears. They all looked so good and even after being at the mall for 4 hours my husband was as calm as could be. Even though we were not able to get our family picture, Bill still took the boys and got thier pictures. They came out so good! This made my day! He got group shots and individual pictures of all the boys and a couple daddy and boys pictures. I tried to get them to squese us in for just one family picture, but they were really backed up an there was just no way.

We are going to go and get a family picture one day soon. At least this time we will only have to get one group shot. I loved my surpise even though we didn't get exacly what Bill had planned. All the boys were over due for an updated picture, but its not so easy to do with 3 little ones. My husband is the best and I loved the surpise!

Oh yea... we did show up at my sisters house afterward and then she took some family pictures! At least we have a snap shot of our family and a birthday I will never forget!

Prayer Request~ Little Bill's ear ache

Its after midnight and I am up with a sick child. I hate the feeling of hopelessness. He is in excruciating pain and I am doing all that I can, but there is nothing I can do to take it away. He has a cough and a bad ear ache. I gave him Tylenol, a hot shower, a heating pad, cough drops and he is still crying about every thirty seconds. The cough seems to be getting a little better, but the ear ache is starting to worry me. I don't know if its really bad or its just because its the first one that he has noticed. If your wondering why I'm blogging, it's because he doesn't want me to hold him and I needed to find something to do why I wait for him to fall asleep. He is very irritable. Right now he is trying to watch Veggie Tales, but he can not relax from the pain. A few hours ago he was a happy cheerful child with just a plain cold. He woke up around 11pm screaming and coughing. So I said all this... just trying to be patient. If you read this please pray for him and my to give him the best care possible.

Pray for "Change"

I have been thinking a lot about President-elect Barack Obama. The inauguration will be stating in just a few hours and I have been debating on whether or not to watch it. I keep wondering what this man is going to do with his position. Some people are very excited about today because of the historical significance of having the first Black President. Others are morning on this day because of many of the positions that Barack Obama stands are not godly. Others don't agree with him, but also don't think that it is the governments job to control moral issues. Many love this man and many others call him an antichrist. It amazes me how controversial this man is in all American minds.

So where do I stand? I really do not like many of his positions. Some of them really make me sick to my stomach. Especially his stand on abortion and gay marriage. I am against both of these. I also am concerned about what he may do with homeschooling. Many believe it may be hard to home school with this president.

Yes, this is a historical moment. The first Black President. This will be something everyone will remember and it will be highlighted in history books to come.

I did not vote for this man. I did not want him to be our President because of the many ungodly stands that he does take. However, I am not surprised. America is full of ungodliness. Most Americans are not Christians.

I am not morning today or wearing all black for the purpose of being against our new President. He has been given this position by America. I need to respect him as the President.

I am going to watch the inauguration today. I also am going to be praying for our President. As Christians, we need to be praying for this man and his family every day. Yes, many of his ways are ungodly, but can you expect him to follow Gods ways if he is not his child? We need to pray for his salvation. God is way bigger than this man will ever be. He can change him and give him a clean heart to serve God.

Christians are the ones that have failed. If we have been praying and witnessing like God commands us to, this man may have been a Christian to start with or he may have not have been elected if there were more Christians in America to stand against sin. However, God is in control. He will use this to glorify him. Maybe it will help Christians to open their eyes and start doing what God has us to do. Maybe it will bring us to our knees in prayer. Maybe God will save President-elect Barack Obama and help him to live for him and input godly ways in America or at least take out the wicked ways. There are so many ways I see God using this.

One thing that I do agree with is the need for "Change". Lets be praying for President Barack Obama to have a changed heart and a Heavenly Father. We also need to be praying for American hearts to be changed by our Heavenly Father.
